Pioneer Boys & Girls of America

The PURPOSE of the PIONEER BOYS of AMERICA, Inc.

Known as the PIONEER BOYS and GIRLS of AMERICA

Organized May 4, 1928, at East Newark, New Jersey, as a non-profit and non-sectarian Youth organization, for the purpose of promoting CHARACTER BUILDING, CITIZENSHIP, LEADERSHIP TRAINING and WHOLESOME COMPANIONSHIP.

Founded by Herbert T. Crookall and Incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey, October 17, 1931.

This e-handbook is published in an effort to provide the membership with clean and wholesome reading. It contains most of the answers to questions which become part of the required test work. It is hoped the Pioneer will, if need be, search further through a Library, History Book, Dictionary or other sources of learning, so as to secure the proper answer to the questions. We have noted the youngster who is not content with a simple explanation is usually the one who progresses and gets a full knowledge. Stories of interest and study of nature will pass many pleasant hours of reading. Through this e-handbook it is hoped that they may achieve greater ambitions to become greater American citizens and realize this great Country of ours, these United States of America, deserves their best as a bigger and better citizen.

The American's Creed
I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign nation of many sovereign states, a perfect union, one and inseparable, established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity, for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, support its constitution; to obey its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

AMERICA

My country tis of thee
Sweet land of Liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims pride,
From every mountainside,
Let Freedom ring. (1st verse)
